About the Federation

The Sport of Sambo

Sambo has conceptualized both freestyle wrestling and martial arts. Its techniques and wrestling styles focus on self-defense rather than attack — making it a uniquely complete combat system.

In this sport, two players face each other in the ring and earn points for successful grappling, throws, and submission holds. The Sambo Federation of Sri Lanka is the official governing body recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.

Discipline

Building character through the rigorous practice of Sambo.

Uniting athletes, coaches, and clubs across Sri Lanka.
